Glenn retired the end of June 2015.    We had been talking for years about serving a mission together, so we thought this was the perfect time to serve.   Glenn was asked to be an Area Medical Advisor.   He accepted, but we didn't want to wait till 2016 to serve..so we submitted our papers for a 6 months mission   We were called to serve in the Washington DC Temple Mission,  Thus began our mission on September 22, 1015.    It has been an amazing experience.   Here we are after almost 5 months, and our mission will come to a close on March 5, 2016.   We have loved serving here.....words can't describe the feeling of working 5 days a week in the temple.  It is very humbling and amazing!!   We have made some very wonderful friends.   We have traveled to many history sights...Gettysburg....Monticello,  Mt. Vernon.....Washington DC.We have a two week cleaning break at the temple...then we have one more week until we leave.  Then we are headed to our original mission, The Independence Missouri Mission.   We drop our car off and unpack our things in our apartment and head to Salt Lake for training at the MTC in Provo.....then for a week training in SLC....then we head back to Independence for our Mission to begin.  It will be an 18 month mission.
