To give you an idea of what we have been doing since the last post, here are some pictures and updates.
We have substituted at the Independence VC and Liberty Jail. We love doing that, as we get to meet a lot of people from all around the World. We had a family from Australia visit the Liberty Jail. While serving at the Liberty jail and after a short conversation, I met a man I was in the same class in the 3rd and 4th grade in Rigby, Idaho. SMALL WORLD!!!! I don't remember his name.
Arriving at Zone Conference, we noticed we had some visitors....
The entrance to the Stake Center was not far from where they were.....
I was still sitting in the car, when I took these pictures....
Sister Tefteller, Sister Christensen, (In the back) and Sister Fuller.......
Every Friday night they have at the Visitor's Center what is called "Why I Believe." Elder Tefteller and I were asked to speak......We both spoke and sang. We started by singing Abide With Me, Tis Eventide, I sang I Stand all Amazed and Elder Tefteller sang A Poor Wayfaring Man, he played his guitar while he sang.
Happy Easter!!! On our way home from Church...
I snapped a picture of Liberty Jail when there was not a tour going....
Standing in from of the Bust of Christ at Liberty Jail.
He's always had a glow about him, but it's getting bigger!!!
Jesus Christ, Savior of the World, how I love Him, and will forever be indebted to Him for all He did for me!
We served with these two cute sisters...Sister Moulten and Sister Gonzales
We love these two missionaries!!!!!! We love serving with the sisters at the VC's.
We hosted our first morning shift, and one of the responsibilities is to pick up these beautiful sisters!!!
We had so much fun with them, And it's amazing how much we learn from them!
A quiet moment at the VC......
I catered a luncheon for the Stake President, President Cato. I made Beef Stroganoff, salad, rolls, green beans, and this chocolate cake. He belongs to Ministerial Alliance. It is a group of local clergy in Independence, and they take turns hosting a luncheon. He asked me to cater his luncheon. I am grateful for my sweet companion who is such a great help to me when I do things like this. He is right beside me. Last Saturday, I spent the day cooking and baking preparing for Easter dinner and I also made some CC cookies for our SS class. Not only did he help clean up, but he ran to the store not once but twice. He didn't even complain. I don't know if I ever mentioned, but I bake the Sacrament Bread for the 3rd Ward and the Santa Fe Branch. We attend both.
We have been feeding the younger Sister missionaries and well as the Seniors. I probably cook 4-5 meals a week for all we feed. I love doing it and enjoy it!
We spent a wonderful Easter with some Seniors. There were 9 of us. We enjoy serving with so many wonderful couples. We teach the 15-17 year olds in SS. We love these young people. They are so amazing! We showed the Easter videos from the Church. After one particular video on forgiveness, one young girl started crying. By the time class ended she was really crying. Elder Tefteller went to talk to her, and she told him she realized there are some things she needs to change in her Life. I am so grateful for my Savior, and for His Atonement. I know we will never fully understand what He did for us. But I do know how much I love him, and try every day to show my gratitude to Him and my Heavenly Father. I love this Gospel and I'm so grateful for it. I have a deep rooted testimony of it's truthfulness.
We LOVE being missionaries. It's hard to believe that we will be home in just 4 1/2 months.
Until next time, read your scriptures and keep smiling!
Much Love, Elder and Sister Tefteller
