We have been here over a year now, and I can't get over how beautiful this time of the year is here in Missouri. The colors of nature are at it's finest. Brilliant greens.......spectacular blues......(the skies)....the vast colors of beautiful flowers everywhere. The never ending flow of the Missouri River!
After our Saturday morning bike ride, we drove down by the Missouri River. Elder Tefteller got out of the car for a closer look. We are reminded of the sacrifices of the early Saints.....they crossed this river to once again escape the evils of men. I'm amazed and humbled by their loyalty to God and their new religion. They were "driven out" again and again, yet they never quit....yet trusting in God that someday they would find a home where they could stay and live in peace and prosperity!
......and Aubrey was her name.....my hair dresser.
Living Legends came from BYU to perform. They were amazing!!
Such wonderful talent and a beautiful message.....
Elder Tefteller giving it his all to ride up this hill......seemed more like a mountain.
Elder Tefteller and the Missouri River
With the Petersons from Arizona.....
As we were driving to the Santa Fe Branch Fiesta yesterday.....Elder Tefteller made a brilliant observation. He said, "Shirl," "every time we leave our apartment to go somewhere we are always carrying food. That sounds about right! Baking and cooking is definitely a part of our missionary service here. He has been at my side the whole time cleaning...running to the store......carrying everything to the car.....test tasting.....he does it all!!! So grateful for my wonderful missionary companion, who is also my Eternal Companion. We make a great team!!!We have been able to go out with Sister missionaries to drive them around for appointments or just to visit people. It is amazing how remarkable these young sisters are. So bold, yet so loving in sharing their testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ. They talked to everyone who crossed our path. They are amazing ambassadors for their Savior. I am so grateful for our children who were able to serve a mission. I am specially grateful that the Lord has blessed Glenn and I with the good health we have so we can also serve missions. We wouldn't trade this experience for anything. We miss our kids and grandkids.....but the experiences we have are worth the sacrifice. We know that by our serving a mission, we are setting an example for our grandchildren and posterity. You can't leave a better legacy than that.
Fun times coming this week.....I will post that in our next blog. All I can say is that I am very, very excited!. One thing about our mission is that we have been able to serve in so many different ways. Which has been a huge blessing for us! This week we will be serving in a way different from the rest.
Stay tuned.....keep reading your scriptures....and Be Happy!!
Much Love,
The Teftellers
