Fall is Coming!!

August 23, 2016

Happy birthday to my first born son.  Aaron Cengiz turns 37 today.   Isn't it fun how our kids are getting so old, but we're not!!!    He and his wife, Tami, and their 5 kids live in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.

The past few weeks have been a little frustrating,,,but I'm trying to take things in stride.  No use in crying over split milk..   I have had a lot of pain with my left leg.   It's my sciatica.    We haven't gone out to make many visits....but I'm still able to cook and bake...probably because I can sit down when I need to.

My Nephew, Danny Van Wagoner came to visit us.  He was on a business trip to KC.  So we took him on Church History Tour.   We went to Far West and Adam Ondi-Ahman. Then we ended up at the Liberty Jail.    We had a great time!   And a great visit with Dan the Man.   We hadn't seem him in years!!!

 Walking down to the Valley!
 Walking to Tower Hill...
Auntie Shirl and Dan the Man!!!
Danny and Elder Tefteller on Preacher Rock.

 Danny at Far West...
 At Liberty Jail....
We took him out for some barbecue....his favorite place was Kansas City Joe's.... So I guess we'll have to go try it....We had a great time Dan....thanks for spending your day off with us.  We love you!!!

We went to the Temple today and took our Ward Missionaries with us.   We did a session, and also did some Initiatories.  Then we took the Elder's to eat after the Temple.   We took them to Corner Cafe.  Which seems to be a favorite of us Seniors.

Elder and Sister Tefteller enjoying lunch with the Elders.
Elder Duarte on the left.   He is from Veil, Colorado.   Elder Corpuz on the right is from San Francisco.   He was born in the Phillipines.   If he looks like he is 19....he is.  In fact, he had his 19th birthday about a month ago.  We love these Elder's.  They are great missionaries.

I have been doing a lot of baking and cooking.  Sugarlene's Cakery Bakery has turned into Sister T's Bakery.  It's become a part of my mission here!!!  But if you know me, I love it!!!

At Church this past Sunday, we walked into the Chapel before Church started and noticed a woman sitting on the back bench who we didn't recognize.   So we went over and started talking to her.  She started asking us about the Sacrament which was on the Program.  So Glenn and I explained it to her.  She said she was new and I thought at first she was a member...but then when she asked us about the Sacrament, we knew she wasn't.    She said she goes to the Baptist Church across the street.   She told her daughter that she wanted to try different Churches, and when she told her she was going to the Mormon Church, her daughter told her not to.   She was very sweet!!  I noticed a check she had laying on the bench next to her.   During the speakers, she leaned over and asked me if we had offering(collection).  I told her no we didn't do that in our Church.   She asked us if it was ok for her to take the Sacrament, and we told her yes.  As she was leaving, I thanked her for coming and invited her to come back.  She said, Oh I will.  The entire Sacrament Meeting was about Jesus Christ.   I was so glad.  I know people have wrong ideas what we believe.

I love this Gospel, and I'm so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who loves us and is so patient with all His children.  I am grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ, and for His atoning sacrifice.   I am grateful for the example he taught us how to live!   I don't know if you have had a chance to watch the Church Videos about the Savior.    They have come out in the past few years.   But I highly recommend them.   The man they chose to play the Savior is incredible.  They are short videos and very worth watching.  The Gospel is true.  Joseph Smith was the first Prophet of the Restoration.   He did in fact see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, and he translated the Book of Mormon.  I've told some of my kids that if you have a testimony of those things, NOTHING else matters.  There are a lot of things we don't understand, but that is ok with me.  I have a testimony that what I have said is true!!!!

Until next time....read your scriptures.  Much love,  The Teftellers
